The Cookie Jar

I know what you’re thinking. Not another post about pursuing a healthier lifestyle. No rather this is more about the things that we never really reflect on. The things that we should be focussing on that uplift’s our spirits and removes the pain of negativity that crops up from time to time. It is inevitable that we go through amazing highs and sad lows. That’s life.

The cookie jar is not your standard jar with sweet baked treats rather it is all about those positive affirmations that make you do what you do.

For me it’s the reason I stay creative. I claim to be an artist that creates work that resonates with you and that requires me being in a positive mindset and allow myself to create positive work that inspires you. There are times when we go through lows where things are not quite working out the way we had hoped and most of us tend to ride it out when we should be finding a way to push it aside and keep pursuing the things we love and bring us joy.

Have you ever thought about making your own cookie jar and or will now that you know this concept?

Some prefer the physical jar with written affirmations on pieces of paper folded up and picked at random to reveal a little bite of positivity. I personally have a digital cookie jar with screenshots and photos of all the things that remind me of all the lovely things I have done and been involved with and the people around that. We just need that reminder sometimes to not let the negative things drag us down. We all have bad memories of things we dredge up from the deep recesses of our minds that we paper over if not confronted and the built up frustration emerges as a negative wave. Dousing yourself in sorrows is a habit and to overcome it we need to do some deeps reflections on the positive things and people around us.
